markilux 990

Profound technical finesse

This slim-line and lightweight markilux 990 cassette awning for small balconies and patios has a number of compelling features. Benefit from the following advantages:

Maximum size: up to 5 metres x 3 metres (awning width x projection)

Despite the compact design of this small awning, markilux’s engineers succeeded in accommodating the folding arms and awning cover entirely, with excellent protection, in the full cassette. This means that these essential components are optimally protected against moisture and dirt when closed.

The optional wall connection profile in the colour of the awning closes the gap between the awning and the wall, discreetly diverting rain over the awning.

The small markilux 990 awning is suitable for wall, eaves and top assembly. In the case of the latter, an impressive pitch of up to 70 degrees is possible. This means you can enjoy a cool shady spot even when the sun is low in the sky.

When it comes to the technology of the folding arms, you can choose between twin steel-link chains and the bionic tendon. The latter is a particularly stable and quiet folding arm technology made of high-tech fibres developed by markilux.

End cap insert in polished chrome: Stylise your awning with a polished chrome end cap insert.

Valance: The valance is located on the front profile of the awning and usually replicates the fabric of the awning. With markilux, you can choose from four different valance shapes: straight, corrugated, curved and flat wavy.

Wall sealing profile: The slim aluminium profile in the same colour as the awning closes the gap between the awning and the wall, allowing rain to be discreetly drained off via the awning.

Bionic tendon: The bionic tendon from markilux has been developed from high-tech fibres to create optimum power transference as well as friction free, noiseless performance. Having achieved more than 50,000 arm flexions in independent tests this arm is ideal for those who do not want to cause any noise pollution to the surrounding environment.

Manual operation: Manual operation is possible for those who do not find the need to automate their awnings. Markilux supplies stainless steel winding handles which are supplied for awnings with a gear box. Low noise bearings & ergonomically shaped grips allow efficiency when operating the awning manually.

Servo-assisted manual operation: This works by a mechanism which is housed inside the roller as a spring coil. As the awning is wound out with the spring assisted arms the coil winds in the opposite direction which creates tension, therefore when winding the awning in it uncoils making it easier to retract the awning via the crank handle.

Hard-wired motor: For markilux hard-wired motors it is required to have a power connection outside. These motors can be controlled via a switch from the inside allowing you to extend or retract your awning through a flip of a switch, saving both time & effort when having to do it manually.

Radio-controlled motor: These motors allow you to control your awning through the touch of a button. This will save the hassle of having to operate the awning through a hard-wired motor drive as this will still require more effort than simply pressing a button within the comfort and shade of your awning.

Your awning offers you a lot of creative freedom: choose your favourite design for the cover from our extensive range. Whether you prefer modern, plain awning fabrics or classic, striped covers, all markilux awning fabrics meet the highest standards in terms of quality, robustness and durability.
