markilux 1600 / 1600 stretch

One of the most beautiful – Far and wide

The unique, markilux 1600 semi-cassette awning with its harmonious, semi-circular design is a winner of the IF product design award. It is open at the bottom but when retracted, it closes flush with the front profile and protects the cover from the rain.

Probably the most beautiful awning in your neighbourhood, the 1600 uses twin round steel link chains arm technology, which can be upgraded to markilux’s own bionic tendon arm technology.

The maximum span of this awning is 7.1 metres and it can project up to 4 metres. As this awning can be coupled, it can effectively stretch to 14 metres in width which is perfect even for a commercial application.

The markilux 1600 awning comes with manual operation as standard and can be upgraded to servo-assisted manual operation, hard-wired or remote controlled motor.

End caps in polished chrome: Stylise your awning with a polished chrome end caps.

Shadeplus: The optional protection from glare and prying eyes creates an enviable, private room outdoors. On request, the shadeplus can be equipped with a radio-controlled motor and supplied with a remote control.

Valance: The valance is located on the front profile of the awning and usually replicates the fabric of the awning. With markilux, you can choose from four different valance shapes: straight, corrugated, curved and flat wavy.

Coupled awning: Awnings can be coupled together to cover even larger areas up to 13.9m in width. Suitable for larger patios or commercial applications.

Stretch: Ideal for narrow patios or balconies due to two crossover arms allowing awnings to be extended further even within a narrow width. This allows you not to miss out on awning technology from markilux, even if your property does not allow standard options.

Wall sealing profile: A wall sealing profile can be installed above the cassette. This allows the rain to be drained through the awning and prevents water from dripping through the gap onto your terrace.

Bionic tendon: The bionic tendon from markilux has been developed from high-tech fibres to create optimum power transference as well as friction free, noiseless performance. Having achieved more than 50,000 arm flexions in independent tests this arm is ideal for those who do not want to cause any noise pollution to the surrounding environment.

Manual operation: Manual operation is possible for those who do not find the need to automate their awnings. Markilux supplies stainless steel winding handles which are supplied for awnings with a gear box. Low noise bearings & ergonomically shaped grips allow efficiency when operating the awning manually.

Servo-assisted manual operation: This works by a mechanism which is housed inside the roller as a spring coil. As the awning is wound out with the spring assisted arms the coil winds in the opposite direction which creates tension, therefore when winding the awning in it uncoils making it easier to retract the awning via the crank handle.

Hard-wired motor: For markilux hard-wired motors it is required to have a power connection outside. These motors can be controlled via a switch from the inside allowing you to extend or retract your awning through a flip of a switch, saving both time & effort when having to do it manually.

Radio-controlled motor: These motors allow you to control your awning through the touch of a button. This will save the hassle of having to operate the awning through a hard-wired motor drive as this will still require more effort than simply pressing a button within the comfort and shade of your awning.

Your awning offers you a lot of creative freedom: choose your favourite design for the cover from our extensive range.
